NFA’s core value is that persons with lived experience of statelessness should lead in determining how statelessness is addressed. One of two long-term goals of NFA is to increase the fair and meaningful participation of persons with lived experience of statelessness in addressing statelessness. To achieve this goal, NFA ensures that all our work is informed by persons with lived and learned experience of statelessness through bottom-up and participatory methods. NFA aspires to increase the proximity to power of persons with lived experience and significant learned experience through their fair and meaningful participation in the statelessness ecosystem. NFA aims to build on SNAP’s regional civil society movement with increased participation of organizations led by persons with lived and learned experience of statelessness.

NFA is a member of the Interim Core Group of the Global Movement on Statelessness, Steering Group of the Global Campaign on Equal Nationality Rights, the advisory board of the American Jewish World Service movement-building program, the Taskforce of the Global Alliance on Statelessness, Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), Identity Rights Working Group and is providing Secretariat service to the formation of the regional alliance on right statelessness in the Asia Pacific. NFA will advocate creating more space for the fair and meaningful participation of persons with lived experience in all these platforms.
